Context

With the rise of peer-to-peer payment apps, many businesses have adapted to accept payments any way their buyers want to pay. This creates a fragmented experience when it comes to managing payments and cash flow. We built Square One to address critical pain points for this audience by integrating payments, banking, and money management in one app.

Ideal customer profile

Through partnering with UX Research, we kicked off by defining our ICP and gaining a deep understanding of the target audience.

PRODUCT STRATEGY

We spent weeks discussing product strategy and debating whether to launch as a stand-alone app vs. tiering the product as a “mode” of Square.

DESIGN

  • Partnered with product design to build UX flows and adapt the current point-of-sale experience.

  • Defined product content strategy and value propositions.

  • Worked with the Banking team to adapt messaging for their features, ensuring expert insights shaped our product’s communication. 

 

PRODUCT NAMING

I facilitated product naming by partnering with creative for R1 brainstorm, leading a wider team brainstorm, and partnering with PMM in overall naming strategy.
